Chilton Stepping Stones and Fresh Landscaping Near Como Lake St. Paul

This home near Como Lake had good bones - a charming Tudor-style exterior, decent yard space, and a brand new deck. But the surrounding landscape wasn't keeping up. Bare soil, no defined edges, nothing tying the yard together with the house. It's a common situation. The structure gets the attention, and the landscaping gets pushed to later. We came in to take care of that.

We laid a Chilton stepping stone path along the side of the home that connects the front yard to the deck area. Chilton stone has that natural, irregular look that works really well with older home styles like this one. It's not a manufactured product - each piece is different, which means the spacing and layout takes real care to get right. We took that time.

Fresh perennials went in around the base of the deck and along the beds, giving the space some life and color that will come back year after year. Hardwood mulch was spread throughout to lock in moisture, keep weeds down, and give everything that clean, finished look. Steel edging pulled it all together - crisp lines that separate the mulch beds from the lawn and keep things looking sharp season after season.

The difference between a yard that looks okay and one that looks put together usually comes down to the details. The edging. The plant selection. The way a stone path is set so it actually flows naturally from point A to point B. That's what we focus on. No shortcuts, no rushing through it just to get to the next job.

Big thanks to the homeowners near Como Lake for bringing us in on this one. It was a great property to work with, and we're proud of how it came together.
