This backyard in Cottage Grove is in the middle of becoming something really special. We're laying RCP Windom pavers in Kodiak Sand - a color that has a clean, natural look without feeling cold or too modern. It reads well in a backyard setting, and it photographs beautifully too.
The double border is one of those details that separates a good patio from a great one. That darker edge framing the field of pavers gives the whole surface a finished, intentional look. It's the kind of thing that might not jump out at first glance, but you'd definitely notice if it weren't there.
We're also building a freestanding Brisa seat wall along the back. No need to drag chairs out every time you want to sit down. The wall becomes a permanent part of the space - somewhere to perch during a summer cookout or just hang out in the evenings. It adds function without cluttering the patio.
What we love about this type of build is that it genuinely holds its value. Paver patios done right don't crack, shift, or wash out the way poured concrete can. And if one section ever does need attention years down the road, individual pavers can be lifted and reset - no jackhammer required.
Cottage Grove homeowners are sitting on a lot of potential backyard space. A well-designed paver patio with built-in seating is one of the highest-return upgrades you can make to that space. We're proud of how this one is coming together.
